What makes it different
Most childminder paperwork on sale is a pile of forms, and the pile is not the part that goes wrong. Six months later the forms are filled in, living in a folder in no particular order, and somebody wants to see all of one kind. Every sheet here prints its own number out of 20 in the top right corner, and the register lists all 20 by number.
What is inside
- The register, which lists all 20 sheets by number, and the 20 record sheets themselves in seven sections
- Sleep and rest: a sleep check record with one row per sleep, down at, how they were settled, the time and initials of every check, and what the parent agreed in their own words
- Arrival and departure: the daily register signed at the door, and existing injury on arrival, which is the sheet that speaks for you when a mark arrives with the child
- Accident, injury and concern: accidents signed by the parent the same day, incidents and near misses, timed head injury observations, and a record of concern in the words they were said in
- Medication and health: permission signed before anything is given, one row per dose written at the time with who gave it and who witnessed it, and allergies kept where food is prepared
- Daily care, safety checks and outings: the daily diary, food and drink, nappies, opening and closing, fire drills, visitors, outings, and animals on the premises
- A refill pack as its own file: the same 20 sheets on their own, still numbered, so you reprint one sheet forty times without printing the rest
Who it is for
- A registered childminder in England keeping records by hand
- Anyone who has to hand over months of records without explaining them first
- A nursery room or an after school club, though it was laid out for somebody working alone
What it does not do
- It does not make your setting compliant, and no document sold by anybody does. Ofsted approves no paperwork. This names the framework's date and says which sheet answers which change, and it claims nothing about an inspection.
- It contains no advice. No ratios, no sleep positions, no screen time limits, no first aid, no safeguarding thresholds. Where another pack gives you guidance, this one gives you a sheet with the fields on it, because the guidance is the framework's job and it is free on gov.uk.
- It is not editable, there is no Word file and no Canva template, and it adds nothing up. It carries no invoices, fee logs, contracts or policies.
